It’s been another crazy wedding season, which is finally slowing down. I’ve absolutely loved every single moment of it. But for me, it’s those unexpected and quirky touches that make a celebration totally unforgettable!
From the bizarre to the cute, the rehearsed to the unexpected, I’ve seen and photographed it all! As a wedding photographer in Hampshire with a passion for capturing the extraordinary, I’ve had lots of fun documenting the beautiful brides, nervous grooms and cute bridesmaids, and a blast with the dance routines, the fab accessories and amazing cakes!
Becky and Liam – A Mini Egg Extravaganza Cake at Lythe Hill Spa and Hotel
When you have your wedding over Easter weekend, then it’s a great excuse (as if you need an excuse!) to include mini eggs in your celebration! There were huge smiles and lots of love, but the brilliant mini egg themed wedding cake stole the show! it added a delicious twist to the day, and was quickly eaten! The amazing cake was by Sarah Louise Cakes in Southampton.
Sammy & Tom: A Penguin Dance to Remember!
Sammy and Tom tied the knot at Skylark in April this year. The fun highlight of their day had to be when Sammy and her siblings surprised everyone with a penguin dance they used to perform together as kids! Confused? well, I was a little, and so were some of the guests to begin with, but there was such enthusiasm, love and excitement in these few minutes that by the end, everyone was on their feet with applause! The dance, brimming with childhood memories, added a sentimental touch to an already love-filled day.
Sarah & Billy: Surprise Serenade by Singing Waiters!
At Newtown House Hotel on Hayling Island, Sarah and Billy’s wedding took an unexpected turn, courtesy of the groom’s Aunt. As a surprise for the couple, she arranged for singing waiters who serenaded the newlyweds and their guests. And they all loved it! The element of surprise and the talent of the performers really started the entertainment off for the evening and got everyone into the mood for a night of partying!
Craig & Charlotte: Dirty Dancing Vibes at Weir Bank, Bray
Craig and Charlotte’s wedding at Weir Bank in Bray brought with it a touch of movie magic. Their first dance? A full-on Dirty Dancing style extravaganza that had everyone on their feet! They must have spent HOURS practising and they looked absolutely brilliant! But that wasn’t all – personalised glasses for every guest were a silly accessory and I made certain to photograph every one of them in their new specs!
